Beauty checklist to look perfect at your wedding

Every bride wants to look her best on her wedding day. Saying your vows and committing yourself to your significant other in front of all your family and friends, it’s only natural that looking your best is a top priority. But there are so many things to take note of when it comes to beauty. So how do you know whether you’re ready and that you’re covered all ground? Here’s a little checklist you can use to make sure that you’re all prepared and ready for your wedding!

1. Cleansing, toning, moisturizing

Your skin should be cleansed, toned and moisturized regularly, to keep it radiant and supple. Cleansing will help open your pores and allow your skin to breathe better. Toning will subsequently tighten the pores and reduce fine lines. Finally, moisturizing will trap the moisture in the pores, keeping the skin soft and smooth. Apply sunscreen frequently to preserve the skin.

2. Facial and hair spa

If you’re starting early, monthly facials for at least 6 months should be what you’re looking at. If there’s not much time left, a bi-weekly facial affair can be opted for. If you intend to try new products, always do a patch test first in case of any allergies you may have.

As for your hair, once a month for at least six months, just like for your facials, should help you achieve that perfectly healthy and shiny hair by the time your wedding comes around.

3. Hands and feet

Massage olive oil on your hands and feet, before going to sleep, to prevent the skin on your hands and feet from drying up. Furthermore, use a pumice stone to remove the dead and hard skin on your feet.

Polish the nails on both your hands and feet, or go for monthly manicures and pedicures, so that your nails will look amazing for your wedding.

4. Hair




























Groom yourself by removing hair from your arms and legs, while getting your brows done. Be sure to do this at least a week before your wedding, as the removal of hair may cause cuts or rashes to occur, and it will take some time to heal.

You can also get your hair done, in terms of dying or trimming your hair to your ideal hairstyle. Make sure you have some buffer time to adjust your hair in case you’re not completely satisfied after the first time.

5. Gym

To get your perfectly toned body ready by your wedding day requires a bit of hard work. Crash dieting and aggressive gym schedules within one to two months of your wedding just won’t cut it. Not only will it cause you to be tired and irritable, you run a higher risk of injuries and health conditions, none of which you’d like to have at your wedding.

Gym consistently for at least four months before the wedding, and your results will be more visible and effective. Consult a dietician and a personal trainer for additional help if you think you require it.

6. Balanced diet

Firstly and most importantly, you must drink enough water so as to flush out all the toxins in your body. At least 8-10 cups of water a day is a good estimate. Alternatively, you can go for coconut or lime water for the extra nutrients. A balanced diet should also be followed, with a good mix of fruits, green vegetables and protein.

Avoid junk food and snacks like chocolate, chips, ice creams and sodas. Having too much of these foods will cause bloating and obesity and skin issues. If you feel the need to indulge in some junk food, do take note of the portion you’re having and make sure that you don’t have too much of it. Alternative healthier snacks would include yoghurts and fruits and nuts.

You need to consume more fruits and leafy green vegetables, for all the antioxidants and minerals which contribute to your healthy and radiant skin. Nail and hair issues stem from the lack of these important minerals, which can thus be avoided.
Keeping track of your calorie intake on a diet tracker would also be a good idea.

7. Sufficient rest

Getting enough sleep is imperative in the days leading up to the wedding. I’m sure you don’t want to turn up at your own wedding with everyone being distracted by your dark circles! Additionally, getting enough sleep will cause you to feel more refreshed and this will translate in your overall mood during the wedding.
